Indian Battles
Vajji
The Battle of Vajji was fought in 484 BC in Ganges Valley during the Mahajanapada era, a siege engagement against Vajji. It ended in victory for the Indian side.
Historical Note
Ajatashatru of Magadha took two new weapons against the Vajji confederacy — the catapult and the scythe-mounted war-cart. His minister Vassakara worked sixteen years to sow discord among the Vajji clans, then the army moved.
