Indian Battles
Hyphasis
The Battle of Hyphasis was fought in 326 BC in Indus Valley during the Macedonian Invasion era, a land engagement against Macedonians. It ended in victory for the Indian side.
Historical Note
On the banks of the Beas, the Macedonian veterans laid down their shields. Eight years of march, two days of monsoon rain, and rumours of the Nanda's 200,000-foot army across the river were enough. Alexander turned south to the sea and home.
