Indian Battles
Anga
The Battle of Anga was fought in 543 BC in Eastern India during the Mahajanapada era, a land engagement against Anga. It ended in victory for the Indian side.
Historical Note
Bimbisara of Magadha defeated and annexed the kingdom of Anga across the Ganges. Magadha now controlled the trade route to the eastern sea, and the foundation of the first great Indian empire was laid.
