Indian Battles

Sondani

The Battle of Sondani was fought in 455 AD in Indus Valley during the Gupta era, a land engagement against Hephthalites. It ended in victory for the Indian side.

Historical Note

Skandagupta met the White Huns of Toramana at Sondani and broke them. The Bhitari inscription says he slept on bare earth the night before the battle. The Hunas did not cross the Indus again in his lifetime.
