Indian Battles

Khandava

The Battle of Khandava was fought in 1200 BC in Ganges Valley during the Vedic era, a land engagement against Asuras. It ended in victory for the Indian side.

Historical Note

Arjuna and Krishna, in repayment to Agni the fire-god, helped him devour the entire Khandava forest — gods, asuras, and serpents alike. The architect Mayasura, spared, would build the Pandavas a magical palace at Indraprastha.
