Greek Battles

Hydaspes

The Battle of Hydaspes was fought in 326 BC in India during the Hellenistic era, a land engagement against India. It ended in victory for the Greek side.

Historical Note

Alexander faced war elephants for the first time and won. His troops then refused to march further into India. He turned back — and never saw Macedonia again.
