Himera
The Battle of Himera was fought in 480 BC in Sicily during the Classical era, a land engagement against Carthage. It ended in victory for the Greek side.
Historical Note
Gelon of Syracuse routed a Carthaginian invasion under Hamilcar on the same day as Salamis (480 BC). Sicilian Greeks called it their Salamis.
