Thermopylae

The Battle of Thermopylae was fought in 480 BC in Central Greece during the Classical era, a land engagement against Persia. It ended in defeat for the Greek side.

Historical Note

Leonidas and 300 Spartans held the pass for three days until Ephialtes revealed a mountain path. The last stand of the 300 has been mythologized ever since.
