Indian Battles
Magadha
The Battle of Magadha was fought in 321 BC in Ganges Valley during the Maurya era, a land engagement against Nanda. It ended in victory for the Indian side.
Historical Note
Chandragupta Maurya and Chanakya overthrew the hated Nanda king. The strategy is preserved in the Mudrarakshasa: peel off the frontier provinces first, then strangle the capital. The empire that followed lasted 137 years.
