Thutmose I was an Egyptian pharaoh active in the 16th c. BC during the New Kingdom period from the state of 18th Dynasty. Died of natural causes.
Historical Note
First pharaoh to be buried in the Valley of the Kings. Pushed Egypt's borders to the Euphrates in the north and the Fourth Cataract in the south — the first true empire-builder. Father of Hatshepsut and grandfather of Thutmose III.
