Imhotep was an Egyptian architect active in the 27th c. BC during the Old Kingdom period from the state of 3rd Dynasty. Died of natural causes.

Historical Note

Djoser's vizier, chief architect, and physician. Designed the Step Pyramid as six stacked mastabas, the first stone-cut tomb on earth. So revered that Egypt eventually made him a god — the only commoner ever fully deified.
