Set

Red Lord of the Desert and Storm

Set is an Egyptian god of storm, associated with the realm of earth. Set belongs to the first generation of the pantheon. Roughly equivalent to Mars in cross-pantheon mapping. Symbolised by the set animal.

Historical Note

Lord of the red desert, storms, foreigners, and disorder. Murdered Osiris out of jealousy and waged eighty years of war against Horus for the throne — a war the gods themselves had to arbitrate. Demonised in late Egypt; in the Old Kingdom, a god of strong kings.
