Hathor

the Golden — Lady of Love and Music

Hathor is an Egyptian goddess of love, associated with the realm of heaven. Hathor belongs to the first generation of the pantheon. Roughly equivalent to Venus in cross-pantheon mapping. Symbolised by the cow horns.

Historical Note

The cow-goddess who gives milk to the king, music to the harpers, and beer to everyone. When Ra grew angry with mankind he sent her out as Sekhmet to slaughter them; he stopped her only by flooding the desert with red-dyed beer she mistook for blood.
