Prasenajit was an Indian king active in the 6th c. BC during the Mahajanapada period from the state of Kosala. Was assassinated.

Historical Note

King of Kosala and patron of the Buddha. Married into the Shakya royal family — through a deception that his son Vidudabha would later avenge — and lost his throne while travelling to visit the Buddha for the last time.
