Ptolemy II was a Greek king active in the 3rd c. BC during the Hellenistic period based in Egypt. Died of natural causes.

Historical Note

Built the Pharos lighthouse, completed the Library of Alexandria, and commissioned the Septuagint translation of the Hebrew Bible. Married his own full sister Arsinoe II in pharaonic fashion.
