Aratus of Sicyon was a Greek strategos active in the 3rd c. BC during the Hellenistic period based in Sicyon. Died: poisoned.
Historical Note
Liberated his own city at twenty by night-climb and rope ladder. Twice general of the Achaean League, he made it the great Greek federation of the Hellenistic age. Poisoned by Philip V at sixty.
