Pydna

The Battle of Pydna was fought in 168 BC in Macedonia during the Hellenistic era, a land engagement against Rome. It ended in defeat for the Greek side.

Historical Note

Perseus of Macedon's final defeat by Rome. The phalanx, invincible on flat ground, disintegrated when Romans exploited gaps on uneven terrain. Macedon became a Roman province.
