The Battle of Arginusae was fought in 406 BC in Anatolia during the Classical era, a naval engagement against Sparta. It ended in victory for the Greek side.
Historical Note
Athens won its last great naval victory. Then the victorious generals were executed for failing to recover the bodies of the dead in a storm — Athenian democracy at its most self-destructive.
