Twosret was an Egyptian queen active in the 12th c. BC during the New Kingdom period from the state of 19th Dynasty. Died of natural causes.
Historical Note
Wife of Seti II, regent for the boy-king Siptah, and finally pharaoh in her own right at his death. Reigned barely two years before the 19th Dynasty ended in civil war. Her tomb was usurped by her successor Setnakhte, who walled up her face.
