Horemheb was an Egyptian pharaoh active in the 14th c. BC during the New Kingdom period from the state of 18th Dynasty. Died of natural causes.
Historical Note
Tutankhamun's general. Took the throne after Ay and erased every trace of the Amarna heretics — chiseling out their names and dating his own reign as if he had succeeded Amenhotep III. Adopted Ramesses I, founding the 19th Dynasty.
