Arsinoe II was an Egyptian queen active in the 3rd c. BC during the Ptolemaic period from the state of Ptolemaic. Died of natural causes.
Historical Note
Sister-wife of Ptolemy II. Defeated and exiled before Egypt, she returned, married her own brother in pharaonic fashion, and was deified during her lifetime. Cities, festivals, and a string of Aegean islands carried her name.
