Egyptian Battles

Tunip

The Battle of Tunip was fought in 1450 BC in Levant during the New Kingdom era, a siege engagement against Mitanni. It ended in victory for the Egyptian side.

Historical Note

Thutmose III besieged the great Syrian city of Tunip after years of Mitanni intrigue there. Its eventual fall completed his Asian empire: from the Euphrates to the Fourth Cataract, no power matched Egypt for a century.
