Egyptian Battles
Megiddo
The Battle of Megiddo was fought in 1457 BC in Levant during the New Kingdom era, a land engagement against Canaanites. It ended in victory for the Egyptian side.
Historical Note
Thutmose III rejected the safe roads to surprise a Canaanite coalition by squeezing his army through the narrow Aruna pass. He won the field in a single afternoon, then took seven months to starve the city out. The first battle in history recorded blow by blow.
