Egyptian Battles
Salamis-in-Cyprus
The Battle of Salamis-in-Cyprus was fought in 306 BC in Aegean during the Ptolemaic era, a naval engagement against Antigonids. It ended in defeat for the Egyptian side.
Historical Note
Demetrius the Besieger took his revenge — destroyed Ptolemy's fleet off Cyprus in the largest naval battle of the Diadochi wars. 150 ships sunk or captured; Antigonus took the diadem on the strength of it. Ptolemy returned to Egypt and held only that.
