Beneventum

The Battle of Beneventum was fought in 275 BC in Italia during the Republic era, a land engagement against Epirus. It ended in victory for the Roman side.

Historical Note

Pyrrhus's elephants stampeded back into his own line. The defeated king sailed home muttering 'what a battlefield I leave for Rome and Carthage'.
