Egyptian Battles
Delta
The Battle of Delta was fought in 1175 BC in Delta during the New Kingdom era, a naval engagement against Sea Peoples. It ended in victory for the Egyptian side.
Historical Note
The survivors of Djahy came on by sea. Ramesses III lured them into the Delta channels, where his archers on the banks raked them while his ships rammed them. The earliest naval battle ever depicted — and a clean Egyptian victory.
