Historical Note
Shoshenq I marched into Canaan five years after Solomon's death, sacked some 150 towns from Megiddo to the Negev — and, by the Bible's account, stripped the Temple at Jerusalem of its gold. The campaign list survives carved on the Bubastite Portal at Karnak.
