Su Wu was a Chinese diplomat active in the 1st c. BC during the Western Han period from the state of Han. Died of natural causes.
Historical Note
Han envoy held by the Xiongnu for nineteen years. They demanded he defect and starved him; he chewed his sheepskin coat. Sent to herd rams in the far north — 'come back when these give milk.' Eventually returned to a Han hero's welcome.
