Cao Pi

First Emperor of Wei

Cao Pi was a Chinese emperor active in the 3rd c. AD during the Three Kingdoms period from the state of Wei. Died of natural causes.

Historical Note

Cao Cao's son. Accepted the abdication of the last Han emperor in 220 AD and proclaimed himself founder of Wei — formally ending four centuries of Han. A respected literary critic too.
