Chinese Rulers

King Zhuang of Chu

Southern Hegemon

King Zhuang of Chu was a Chinese king active in the 6th c. BC during the Spring & Autumn period from the state of Chu. Died of natural causes.

Historical Note

Hegemon of the south. Famously asked about the weight of the Zhou royal tripods — a coded threat that he might claim the Mandate of Heaven itself.
