Confucius was a Chinese philosopher active in the 6th c. BC during the Spring & Autumn period from the state of Lu. Died of natural causes.
Historical Note
Spent his life seeking a ruler who would hire him to govern by virtue. He died believing he had failed. His students compiled his sayings into the Analects, which shaped East Asia for 2,500 years.
