Jieting

The Battle of Jieting was fought in 228 AD in Wei Valley during the Three Kingdoms era, a land engagement against Cao Wei. It ended in defeat for the Chinese side.

Historical Note

Zhuge Liang's first northern expedition. His favorite officer Ma Su disobeyed orders, camped a mountain instead of holding the road. Zhang He cut him off from water, broke his army, and the campaign collapsed. Zhuge Liang wept and executed Ma Su.
