Queen of the Dead — Maiden of Spring

Persephone is a Greek goddess of spring, associated with the realm of underworld. Persephone belongs to the chthonic generation of the pantheon. Roughly equivalent to Proserpina in cross-pantheon mapping. Symbolised by the pomegranate.

Historical Note

Persephone's story was the central mystery of the Eleusinian Mysteries — the most secret and revered religious rites in ancient Greece, promising initiates a blessed afterlife.
