Hermes

Messenger and Guide of Souls

Hermes is a Greek god of commerce, associated with the realm of olympus. Hermes belongs to the olympian generation of the pantheon. Roughly equivalent to Mercury in cross-pantheon mapping. Symbolised by the caduceus.

Historical Note

Hermes invented the lyre on the day he was born, using a tortoise shell — then traded it to Apollo in exchange for the caduceus and the right to herd cattle.
