Greek Mythology

Eros

God of Desire and Love

Eros is a Greek god of love, associated with the realm of earth. Eros belongs to the minor generation of the pantheon. Roughly equivalent to Cupid in cross-pantheon mapping. Symbolised by the bow & arrow.

Historical Note

In early mythology Eros was a primordial cosmic force — the force of attraction that holds the universe together. Only later did he become Aphrodite's son with his mischievous arrows.
