God of Sun, Prophecy and Music
Apollo is a Greek god of sun & arts, associated with the realm of olympus. Apollo belongs to the olympian generation of the pantheon. Roughly equivalent to Apollo in cross-pantheon mapping. Symbolised by the lyre.
Historical Note
The Oracle of Delphi — the most powerful prophetic institution in the ancient world — was Apollo's voice on earth. His temple bore the inscription: 'Know thyself.'
