Artemis

Twin of Apollo — Huntress of the Moon

Artemis is a Greek goddess of hunt, associated with the realm of wilderness. Artemis belongs to the olympian generation of the pantheon. Roughly equivalent to Diana in cross-pantheon mapping. Symbolised by the bow.

Historical Note

Artemis demanded lifelong virginity from her nymphs. When Actaeon accidentally saw her bathing, she transformed him into a stag and had his own hounds tear him apart.
