Chinese Rulers
King Wuling
Wearer of Barbarian Dress
King Wuling was a Chinese king active in the 4th c. BC during the Warring States period from the state of Zhao. Died: starved.
Historical Note
Reformed Zhao by adopting nomadic trousers and mounted archery — over fierce noble opposition — and crushed the steppe Linhu and Loufan. Abdicated for his son, then was starved to death in his own palace.
