Cyrus the Great was a Persian king active in the 6th c. BC during the Achaemenid period. Was killed in battle.

Historical Note

Founded the Achaemenid Empire by conquering Media, Lydia, and Babylon (539 BC). Famous for tolerance — the Cyrus Cylinder is sometimes called the first charter of human rights.
