Pompey the Great was a statesman of the Roman Republic active in the 1st c. BC originally from Italia. Held power for 23 years and was assassinated.

Historical Note

Cleared the Mediterranean of pirates in three months and conquered the East. Lost the civil war to Caesar at Pharsalus, then was beheaded stepping ashore in Egypt.
