Romulus was a king of Rome active in the 8th c. BC originally from Italia. Held power for 38 years and died: disappeared.

Historical Note

Founder and first king of Rome (traditional 753 BC). Killed his twin Remus over a wall dispute. Mysteriously vanished in a thunderstorm — later deified as Quirinus.
