Crassus was a statesman of the Roman Republic active in the 1st c. BC originally from Italia. Held power for 18 years and was killed in battle.
Historical Note
The wealthiest man in Roman history. Crushed Spartacus, then sought glory in Parthia. Killed at Carrhae in 53 BC — molten gold reportedly poured down his throat.
