Lysimachus was a Greek king active in the 3rd c. BC during the Hellenistic period based in Macedon. Was killed in battle.
Historical Note
One of Alexander's bodyguards. Carved out a kingdom in Thrace and Asia Minor. Killed at 80 at Corupedium (281 BC) — the last battle of Alexander's Successors.
