Sobek is an Egyptian god of war, associated with the realm of sea. Sobek belongs to the first generation of the pantheon. Symbolised by the crocodile.

Historical Note

Crocodile god of the Nile and the Faiyum. Symbol of pharaonic power: ferocious, swift, fertile. Devoured by his worshippers in temple ritual, and worshipped by them as the lord of the river they could not survive without.
