Indian Rulers
Gautamiputra Satakarni
Lord of the Deccan
Gautamiputra Satakarni was an Indian king active in the 2nd c. AD during the Kushan period from the state of Satavahana. Died of natural causes.
Historical Note
Reversed Satavahana decline by smashing the Western Satraps. The Nasik inscription calls him 'destroyer of the Sakas, Yavanas, and Pahlavas' — Scythians, Greeks, and Parthians all in one breath. Ruled the Deccan from coast to coast.
