Vayu

the Wind

Vayu is an Indian god of wind, associated with the realm of heaven. Vayu belongs to the first generation of the pantheon. Roughly equivalent to Aeolus in cross-pantheon mapping. Symbolised by the banner.

Historical Note

The wind. Breath of the gods, father of the strong — Bhima of the Mahabharata and Hanuman of the Ramayana are both his sons. Has no fixed form; he is heard but not seen.
