Lord of War and Storms
Chiyou is a Chinese god of war, associated with the realm of earth. Chiyou belongs to the first generation of the pantheon. Roughly equivalent to Mars in cross-pantheon mapping. Symbolised by the bronze helm.
Historical Note
Horned bronze-headed war-god with 81 brothers. Invented metal weapons. Defeated by the Yellow Emperor at Zhuolu — but later worshipped by the Han for his ferocity.
