Chang'e

Lady of the Moon

Chang'e is a Chinese goddess of moon, associated with the realm of heaven. Chang'e belongs to the hero generation of the pantheon. Roughly equivalent to Selene in cross-pantheon mapping. Symbolised by the jade rabbit.

Historical Note

Drank her husband Hou Yi's elixir to keep it from a thief. Floated to the moon, where she lives forever with only a jade rabbit for company. Honored every Mid-Autumn Festival.
